After reading in another thread about Amahi, I have installed it and now have as lovely Linux file sharing system up and going.

My question is, and remember I am not a Linux god like you lot, is there a fairly simple DVD to DivX ripper available for Fedora 12?

I have read about VLC and Rip::DVD but being a Windows lad at heart, are there any point and click type affairs for Linux?

Cheers

Thanks Oxy and yes, they are my DVDs - got a load of boxsets for Christmas and an empty drive to rip them to, was just the bit inbetween I was worried about :D

Thanks, will have a look at the link. When I first read about DVD Rip it sounded like a CLI thing! There is hope for this Windows disciple after all ;)

You might want to check out Arista and Handbrake. They don't rip to DivX but they do rip to other formats and are both very good. Arista does not have many settings, but this makes it very simple to use. You basically just stick in your DVD, select the output format and off you go. Handbrake is much more powerful, but if you only want to do something simple than Arista's not bad at all.
