Ripping taking ages.

Hi.
Has anyone got any idea why ripping my CDs takes so long?
Im running Vista64, and only WMP will rip, but it takes about a minute per track.
My old XP system would have the whole CD ripped in far less time!

Ideas?

Don't use media player, wma sucks. Especially if you want to use the music on devices like phones and personal music players. I use CDex, which will rip into several formats at whatever quality setting you want.

CDex is my usual method.
Both it and iTunes will think its ripped an entire disk in about 3 seconds, but the files are only a few bytes big.
WMP10 is the only thing ive found that'll do proper rips.

I use Vista64 because i have 4Gb of memory.

that's unusual. have you tried EAC for the ripping with LAME?

Cant say i have,
Might try that on the next few CDs tomorrow night.

Very odd though.
