I have an L reg corsa dont just over 41k now. For the past month or 2 the front right wheel has been slowly going flat, so ive been pumping it back up again. Also when on the motorway my steering wheel is shaking, so much my hand ontop of it just looks like a blurr. So it was either tracking or balancing. My mum finally got me to go and get it sorted by saying she'd pay for it.

So i drive down to fairway tyres, which is just down the road from me and he comes back saying this:

'Yep youve got a slow puncture on the right, which is unrepairable, and the left is out of shape, which is why your getting the wobbling' (dont know weather he meant the wheel or the tyre?)

'£96 something for 2 new tyres'

me:  no thanks, ill get it done cheaper elsewhere. So they put my wheels on and off i drove.

I'd expect them to put on new wheels for that price!

A few months ago i got 2 new tyres from Costco for £65 balanced and fitted etc etc.

Costco the best place to go for some shinney new tyres?

Thanks

Benny.

Only people that want to end up in a ditch would accept that price!

Get it sorted ASAP, you don't want to be driving around (especially at motorway speeds  ) in a broken car!

what on earth are they fitting for £65

even cheap ditchfinders are usually around the £40 mark

Nah you can get ditch finders for £22 a tyre :), Or least I could on my old old car and £32 on the golf.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

DO NOT COMPROMISE ON TYRES

They save lives.
Wise words, hence why I upped my budget a bit. But in my car, with no air bags or afaik ABS, Im a gonner anyway. But i dont drive like a fool, so my tyres should suit me nicely.

I would have gone back to costco and got michelins personally.

I wouldnt, put Michelin Energys on my sisters old car they are absolutely dire and the wear rate was apalling. Conti Eco Contact3's far better.

My dads got a costco membership so might get it done asap. money i could do without spending, lol
You could also do without crashing into the barrier or someone else because of an accident caused through your poor maintaince, would land you a bigger bill.
