Did anyone watch this week's Question Time? Did anyone else think it was like a Jeremy Kyle show? And then there is Trump close to becoming President. Is this the future?

You're only thinking that because of the 2 Americans?

Question Time makes my blood boil but I still endure it occasionally for some reason...

We're in a post fact, post expert future. Like Pudsy would say "things can only get ... worse".

I blame the Internet. No one need study anything or remember one iota, since we just Google it.
Coupled with the ability of the moron classes to get screen time, we're all becoming thicker. Especially the children with their 9 fake A* GCSEs

This is the future.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/

Good shout. Before things used to be at least a little "peer" reviewed before people could read/watch it. Now with the internet anyone can set up a website/news provider and or create videos millions can watch without any kind of critical thought put into the content.

I agree, for those who are poorly educated, they can find like minded souls to support any stupid thought or idea. It seems the more stupid you are, the more likely you are to share your stupidity.

The internet was initially developed as a means of command and control for if the worst happened, a nuclear war. It would be somewhat ironic if it helped foster the cause of one.

Bush, reelection of thatcher, whilst modern idiots see Boris et all are celebs is it different?

Trump is in a different league though.

At least Thatcher, as much as she was decisive, was a politician with some political skill. Both Bushes were also politicians with track records, although with the second Bush it does beg the question, why in recent times does no decent Republican politician want to become President!?

Think of all your friends, colleagues and relatives. Then imagine if you will the average level of intelligence of all those people. I'd like to think most of my circle is above average intelligence, at least I hope so, so let's say for sake of argument, 55% of the country is more idiotic than that. Thats still millions of people. They lap up whatever is put on the front page of the Sun/Daily Mail/Daily Express as fact and news. They never seem to form their own opinions or make their own mind up. The scary thing is, these people can VOTE and PROCREATE.

The media seem to have spent years making idiocy fashionable. The thicker you are the more air time you get, couple this with the fame generation and being stupid is now a career choice.

The rise of the idiot does seem to have made the educated rather self regarding and arrogant. Two chartered engieers I know at work seriously suggested bureaucratic technocracy of unelected elites that were like them was better than allowing less educated people the vote. They seemed to that think they were socialists.
