Just replaced my 3080FE with a 5070 I picked up cheap, put it in my main rig, no output, needed my PC for stuff so put the 3080FE back in and tested the 5070 in my open air test rig, worked fine..

Took me about 2 hours of messing with PSU cables and stuff to realise I'm using a board that supports PCIe x5, and a GPU that supports x5, and a bloody x4 riser cable...

Dropped into the BIOS, set the mode from Auto to x4, surprise surprise, everything now works...

So, as I'm using the SSUPD Meshiliscious, what cables do people recommend to replace the x4 version, as I'd rather just swap the cable than have to remember to set the mode again if I ever default the BIOS for whatever reason...

Asus Z790i Lightning, I'll have a dig through the manual, wasn't aware some boards had jumpers to solve the issue, cheaper than a new riser...

Yeah, I could do the same, but, for what I've already spent this month on stuff I don't need, what's adding a bit more for a cable that I'll never see, and forget exists as soon as I stick the sides back on the case :D

Nah, I do like this Meshy tbh, think my next case will be a good few years away yet...

No, still clearing out all of my post move junk that I don't have space for any more, once that's done, I've got a proper cable for my PSU-GPU to go in there, will do the riser at the same time as its been about 18 months I think since the last time I stripped the machine down, cleaned, and rebuilt it.

I like my case though, and a few posts I've seen people are saying the build quality of the OG Meshi is better..

I could, recase my server from a white NR200 to a Meshroom 2 IF I can make the 3x3.5 drives fit, no GPU as its iGPU and 3d print stuff to fit, and then just use the new cable in my old case...
