Risft S discontinued next year?

Ive kept both, the rift s is far better and looks better than the quest 2 over link for racing sims, this will probably change with future updates for the quest 2. Still prefer the rift s when sitting down at my sims rig for racing sims.

The quest 2 is excellent over wifi for games like half life alyx, beat saber etc. I know its an expense but they both have their place.

Think i will wait or pass on Oculus and see what comes out in the future. Oculus should have never sold it to facebook. :(

No i tried it. I played quite a lot of Elite on it but it kept disconnecting from PC. Head strap was more then useless on me any way it was too tight or too slack and the back of the strap dug in. A lot of glare on screen too. But picture was nice and clear. Its mainly the head strap and the way they went cheap on it to make you buy elite head strap. I no they are making a loss and got to make up on accessories but i would have preferred a finish product at £499 same as the rift s.

erm, but you could have bought the Elite Head Strap and it would have been cheaper than £499?

Even with the elite strap the Rift S is light years more comfortable, they're not comparable.

It's made the Quest 2 bearable though, unlike the original Quest which I spent £100 modding for comfort only to return.

Yea, but that should not be the case at all. I paid money on the understanding I wouldn`t be forced onto facebook, and they went back on their word. Once you paid for it without facebook, you should never be forced onto it. They don`t respect me, or the customer, so I won`t show them my respect by using their kit. It should be illegal. I`m surprised that only Germany is fighting this.

Facebook partly the reason but not all. I did factory reset to get rid of my info be for taking it back hehe.

You really can see where they skimped on materials compared to rift s. Some have said that the elite strap broke on them too on some reviews.

We all be micro chipped by then any way and every one will have our info when they want it.
 
The facebook integration is the reason why I still haven't used my rift s, it's brand new.
Was waiting to build a new system to get the most out it, then facebook happened.

Won't be using it unless a required facebook account requirement is dropped.
Probably never happen, and in that case I'll just sell it and get a reverb G2 when available.

I waited to see if Zuckerburg would change his mind when people complained. After 2 weeks I got rid of it. Still annoyed because I did have a lot of fun with it in Fallout4VR. But I`ve ordered the reverb G2, so hopefully, it was a blessing in disguise.

Yes the reverb G2 looks impressive.
I don't like loosing money on the things are buy though, so I've just kept the rift in it's box.

There's been plenty of complaints about facebook, but nothing has happened yet.
Maybe one day I'll be able to use it, we'll see.
