Right ive been tempted to cancel my preorder of RF online and get wow but im reaaly not sure.
With RFO im really excited about it ive been following it for a while and im already in a guild and im awaiting the beta code. But the bad thing about the game is apparently its like lineage 2 with the massive grinds, which i think i might get board after a while. But thats no reason to not wanting it as the game is going to be good ive already decided on being the Accretia Warrior.

With WOW ive played a trial but only managed to play on it for about 5 hours due to being buisy. And i remember not thinking much of it and saying guild wars is better. But i cant judge it on 5 hours, i managed to try oun the undead which i hated cause it seemed boring but then i tryed dwarf warrior and thought it was great. If i do get it im thinking of being a orc warrior but i reckon after a couple weeks ill be bored with it.

RFonline will be refreshing as its in the future and its got a purpose to it of capturing the mines so its going to involve huge PVP battles.

My beta key arrived this morning in the pre-order box sent by Game just before i went to work. In my eagerness to get playing when i got home i thought i'd set it off installing before going to work only to find that the disc it came with contained music tracks  Needless to say i felt a bit daft when i realised i need to enter the key at the site and download the client from them :p (which says that stage of beta aint active yet and to check back for more info on when i can download and start).
Wish it would hurry up and start, i'm itchin to play it.

Zeph.

I'm in Phase 1 atm :p It's a lot of grind and pretty boring until lvl 30 when things get interesting. Leveling PT adds even more grind too esp. trying to level Shield PT ffs! Hopefully the PvP will pay for the boredom of grinding.

I've yet to play an mmorpg developed in Asia that hasn't been an enormous grind. Pity, because generally they tend to be very polished and stylish.

you also lose xp when u die apparently like lineage2 which sucks imo, especially at later levels when it takes days to get one level.

Huh? Me and EasyG have bothed played Lineage2 to a pretty high level so we can comment on it. With me getting my main to 73 just two levels short of the level cap i think we have a rather good judgement on how lineage2 was.

It was fun at the lower levels, at higher it was more due to the pvp aspect kicking in a lot more. But to be quite honest it was always a bore grinding. At 70+ with a top group your looking at a level every few weeks max. That's without pvping and again that's with a top group, killing the same monsters virtually non stop for that amount of time.

Friend's at 74 were doing 0.00001% a kill or something stupid like that and after a whole day had maybe 1% to their name out of 100% to next level.

So if RFO is anything to go by Lineage2 then in my eyes it's not worth playing unless your not working or going to college as the time you'll need to put in will be insane.

Apparently there going to make the grind easier than what the koreans are doing. Codemasters reckon it will be more popular for us to have the grinding not to take so long. So im happy as long as its not as easy as wow but not as hard as lineage2 :)
Ive just this minute had a parcel come through with the beta key and some goodies, music and stickers :D
Im very sure now that ill stick with RFonline its going to rock.

O lineage 2 sorry I cant read ;-( thought u was moaning about wow
lol

Sorry

grats on 73 l2 is an insane grind I got 2 characters to 56 and gave up ;-(

ill be giving rf online a miss then, i hate the repetitive grind games, wow was bad enough considering when i did get to 60 all there was to do was wait around for my guild to start instancing zzz. I think I'll give mmo's a miss for a while ;(

i had played warcraft for somethin like 16 days (in game time) before hitting 60 ... ok so if i power grinded and did nothing else u could get that time down but thats still more than enough gaming in my opinion

ps. i rox0r in pvp in WoW, would be nice to have a change with some real guns involved

I played the Ph Beta and the grind isn't too bad. but the game just seemed a little unfinished.

I will be playing it when it comes out anyway. how long I pay it for though will depend on how good the PvP is.
