Learned to play this last night, and it's actually a pretty good game; kind of reminded me of a less geeky version of Games Workshop games, and certainly brings out the competitive side in people! (Moreso than Monopoly)

Any other risk affecionados here?

Do what my mates and I did one night, when ever you lose a battle you had to take 3 shots. It sucks to lose!

Not many of us actually took 3 shots each time.
 
Risk is awesome. Conquerclub is pretty decent, but need to look out for the Realtime games as some people can take ages to take a shot.
 
yeah problem is it's such a long game... Time FLEW when we were playing though.... 9 hours (Including a dinner break) to play 2 games.

Me and my friends are a bit obsessed with Risk it's such a great game!

Between us I think we have...

Normal Risk
Star Wars Risk
LOTR Risk with addon
2120 Risk

We saw a new version today called Godstorm Risk - which appears to have gods and atlantis and such!

I like a good game of Risk, can never find anyone who will play against me though and if I convince the family to play they'll all gang up on me from the start to put me out and stop me winning. :(
 
Rish is inherently broken, in that the person who goes first inevitably wins, unless he's retarded.

We used to make a rule change after years of playing to counter this, but i cant remember for the life of me what it is.

Yeah there is a scenario where you get all your territory cards and you choose a capital. Obviously not telling anyone what it is. If they take it you're finished and they get all of your troops and territories. It's a good one actually.

Took a quick look at Star Wars risk. Looks really complicated actually. Loads of cards seem t o have been introduced!
