Rivatuner Fan Control?

Just started using rivatuner to control fanspeed of my 3870's, or should I say one of them :(

Seems I can shove the fan speed to any speed I want, but it only takes effect on the top card in the system :(

Any ideas?

EDIT: Damnit, its Crossfire doing it :(

If I disable crossfire, the cards appear as 4 entities in the drop down box in Rivatuner, with Crossfire enabled, it only shows as one physical card. I can set both cards fan speeds, then enable crossfire, but doing that on each boot (won't remember settings if I leave crossfire enabled) is a PITA.

I'm guessing you're using Vista from the sounds of your complaint.

Rivatuner doesn't deal with sli/crossfire cards very well, it will only adjust the fans speeds based on the display rather then the actual cards themselves.

Which is why you can speed up the fans when xfire/sli is disabled but not when enabled :(

As far as I can tell, the auther of rivatuner is not in the least bit interested in multi-gpu setups and there won't be any fix or code re-write :(. I think, like the rest of us, you're stuck.

A bad solution is to downdate to XP where each card is shown as a seperate display but under vista this isn't possible and I know not of solution.

I've got the hd3870 and the latest rivatuner.

When I start up rivatuner they say that they haven't got (rivatuner) drivers sorted out properly yet for the hd3870s .

Without crossfire rivatuner still doesn't work properly.

I can't have multiple profiles whereas you have the option to do it.

I can just have one fan speed.

Let's hope they have rivatuner sorted for the 3870s soon.

:rolleyes::D

I had no issues setting fan speeds with Rivatuner in Vista with my cards, so long as I set them up BEFORE ticking the crossfire box in the CCC.

I would have a play and report back, but I'm in the process of reformatting (corrupt after clocking too hard :D)

how do u get windows vista to load your fan profile on bootup? i have made the launcher items and threshholds but they dont load with windows and now i have to change the fanspeed manually via the profiles from the launch thingy.,
