Due to the new Nvidia 185.85 drivers, as everyone knows it stops you doing automatic overclocking, and most other overclocking software does not work either, due to the different way that these drivers work to all previous releases.

Any idea when the new software comes out?

Not sure when riva tuner comes out.BUT i'm currently using EVGA precision tool to overclock (not auto though) and set fan speeds with my GTX285.

Also using 185.85 drivers with windows vista 64 and windows 7 RC 64. Works well!

Its the auto-overclocking that I prefer, as it means you dont have to do minute increments and test everytime, takes all the time and the headaches out of it, call me lazy but its the easiest way

you can force riva to recognise the latest drivers

1. Open <Power User> tab
2. Press <Open database> button
3. Browse for RivaTuner.rtd database file (located in the application root folder)
4. Expand <System> node
5. Ensure that <Hexadecimal display> button is NOT pressed (otherwise 18585 will be treated as a hexadecimal value instead of decimal one)
6. Double click <ForceDriverVersion>
7. Enter 18585

that was copy pasted from some thread on ocforums

sorry you were talking about auto-oc, I'm not sure about that

I did use the force it to recognise the latest drivers, but after that the auto-oc does still not work at all, the only way is to wait for the new release version so that I can start using the auto-oc again, until then my GPU will only work at the stock speeds, while its the latest card, I know it can go quite ahead when overclocked
