Rivatuner noob, fan settings

Hello,

I have a gfx card that gets too hot with the stock fan settings, I never had any problems but I noticed an artifact twice playing Crysis ( and after those it was fine for another 30 minutes until I stopped playing) today and one in Audiosurf I think ( part of the track blacked out for a fraction of a second). It gets up to 88C under load and is 76 idle. This is because the fan stays at 26 or was it 36% at all times. So I've been told I can set rivatuner to adjust the fan speeds according to the temps, but I have no idea how to do this.

What I want:
-40 C Fan speed 36%
40-50C Fan speed 50%
50-55 Fan speed 60%
55-60 Fan speed 70%
60-65 Fan speed 80%
65+ Fan speed 100%

I could use nvidia panel and set it at 75% at all times which keeps the card under 45 load ( well it used to a year ago when I tried that), but it makes too much noise like that imo so I want it to be a bit more silent when its cooler.

Can anyone link me or tell me step by step instructions how to do what I want ? Could I have damaged my card by letting it run too hot :( ?

Thanks, having replayed the song in audiosurf the same thing happened in exactly the same places, it appears it was one of the random objects on the map just coming into the field of view blocking the view for a second and not an artifact luckily.

Could it be simply a software issue in Crysis Warhead when I saw the artifact ?
It was on the train mission where you have to go to the control tower to stop the train, just before that when you come riding the train from the tunnel my performance plummeted, from 40 ish to 10 fps, then when I got off the train and when looking at the chickens at a certain angle a massive grey spike appeared for a second and disappeared, performance was erratic, sometimes dropping to 10 for no reason and back to 40 ish like nothing happened even though barely moving the camera. I quickly did the objective and played warhead for another 20 to 30 minutes without issues or random framedrops.

This is the first time I have seen such a thing on this Graphics card in like 14 months, and I play A LOT of games ( 15-40 hours a week). So I personally reckon it's just a bug in Crysis Warhead. Although you could correct me and say Crysis is the only game which stresses my gpu so much...

Thanks a lot for the Riva tuner guide ! Exactly what I needed, even though I don't think my card has overheating issues now I'll still do it just to be safe and get the temps into a more comfortable territory :D.
