I'll try and make this as simple as possible for people to understand.
At the moment i have a wireless DSL router located in the living room of my house, now this is fed from the only BT phone socket in the property through a micro filter with a short RJ11 connector to the router and a Telephone plugged into the other socket.
The problem arises as i want to relocate the router to the other side of the house, furthest away from the BT socket in the wall. I'm happy to keep the micro filter in the living room and run an extension through the house to its new location (all cables hidden and discrete) but i cant for the life of me find a RJ11 cable long enough to fulfill my needs.
I'm looking for a RJ11 cable in the region of about 40m, a little difficult as the longest i can find pre-made and ready for sale from well known places are only about 15m MAX
Is there another way i could possibly get around this such as to use the shorter RJ11 cables i already have and use a RJ11-RJ45 adapter/connector to make up the length throughout the house....do such things exist and would I come into any difficulites doing it this way or would it simply be a case of plug it in and be exactly the same as if i was to use 1 length of RJ11?
any help would be appreciated, if anyone knows where i could purchase either a 40m length RJ11 cable in the Gatwick, West Sussex area or a solution i'd be most grateful!
