hello, im moving to community fibre soon which uses a rj45 connection from the box to the router. the thing is i have a 20m rj11 adsl cable running through my house to centralize the current bt fttc router. could i use the rj11 cable with an adapter? and would it support 1000 up 1000 down at the same time?

If that cable is CAT5e/6 then yes, you can re-terminate it to RJ45 for that purpose. But if it's purely an old phone cable then it wont be any good at all and you will have to run the correct cable.

how can i check if it is cat5e/6?

Easiest way to tell is it's written on the side of the cable. Also, network cable has 8 cores, telephone cable has 4 cores (sometimes only 2).

i cant see anything on the side of the cable, but the actual thing that goes inside the port has 4 cables yellow white green and brown, so im gonna guess it has 4 cores

i would just buy a new cable they are not that expensive nowadays. I bought a very nice 20m cat 7 cable of the forest for £16 somewhere around that price.
