bit confused by this

1 x hp procurve gigabit switch HP V1810-24G

in lounge have selectric rj45 twin data points - operating at 100

in kitchen have this http://www.wirelesslightingstore.com/rj45-sockets/FSS62W.html it operates at gigabit speeds!

neither data points say what operating speed they have - I assumed the would be comparable, can't find any manf specs on either. they appear to be wired correctly

any help gratefully recieved

Sounds like the wires havent been punched down properly on the lounge faceplate. That or the wiring is incorrect. 100mbps only requires 2 out of the 4 pairs so it seems to suggest that atleast 1 pair isnt connected right.

Yep, I had exactly the same issue, was due to a pair not been punched down properly as soon as i punched it - gigabit yay.

Also make sure they are wired the same at both ends.

had spark check all the faceplates, some are still not running as expected, we are going to check the jacks tomorrow... cheers

hmm, now different ones are not working

for many I get an initial green light the orange blink then nothing

others a solid green light and orange for activity - syncing at 1Gbps

if there anything i need to do with the procurve? i am not able to login to it even when connected directly

was down at electrical wholesalers first thing and picked up a cable tester = 9.99

results were the spark had wired up the jacks into the procurve wrong, used a different table by mistake and a number of the sockets were wired wrong

the tester made a massive difference and saved a lot of time!

all up and running at 1Gbps now
