Has anyone used a RJ45 PLUG TO 2 RJ45 SOCKETS, CAT5e ETHERNET SPLITTER dongle?

I dropped a clanger when I networked the study, by forgetting a HP all in one printer had network option.
Too much hassle pulling another cable, homeplugs too costly, & USB is definitely out.
But, using a pair of RJ45 splitter dongle each end to plug in to faceplates, does work out cheaper.

I have used them before. They work OK, they do the job they are supposed to do.

Do you have gigabit switches? If you do then a small gigabit switch in the study would be preferable, but if not then just use the splitters.

Thanks everyone, how simple:o,hadn't thought of adding another switch in the study, got a Netgear GSS605 in the spares box.
Shouldn't be any issues with existing Linksys gigabit switch in the attic.
