Hi,

Someone is sending me over an item which he gave it to the post office today via special delivery, is there any chance I could get the item tomorrow or would it be monday?

No. If it was sent on a friday, their target delivery date is monday.

Fair enough, although they usually get there the next day in my experience ( including Friday -> Saturday and Saturday -> Monday).

RM special delivery is pritty smart, a guy sent me a chainsaw with RM special delivery it arrived the next day. It came at something silly like 7:30 where as the regular mail man arived at 9:30.

I dont think they always guarantee it on a saturday, however if its before 4pm today, it should be as he will have got the last post

They are usually really fast in Somerset, but I guess all the farmers dont use up to date methods of sending mail much. :p

It all depends where it was sent from and to.

Because they don't guarantee delivery for saturdays long distance post will often not arrive until the monday, however stuff sent within about 200 miles probably still will.

Yup, whats been said is exactly right.

Its always the case though, if its something you really really really want to arive, it will be the latest possible date, it monday.

If its a bill or something you couldnt care for...tomorrow....probably ring your bell at about 7:00 in the morning aswell. :p

Special Delivery is one postal method I can actually trust. Which is much more than can be said for some couriers and their "service". :p

I'd expect the parcel either today or Monday - would depend on the mood of my local depot. ;)
