I've put a new (second hand) graphics card into my sons machine, a 1070 GTX. It's locking up on Fortnight and I can see Critical power event errors in the event log ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."). I'm not sure if this is the freezing event or the having to hold down the power button that is causing this.

Is it likely that this is a power supply issue? There should be more than enough juice to run it, it's not overclocked and is paired with a 6700k. I'm not sure on the warranty period of the power supply, I've owned it since new from 18/12/21.

Any further investigation pointers?

I didn't use DDU but it only ever used integrated graphics prior to this card going in.

I could test on another machine but that's for later if i can't make progress as it's a faff.

I upgraded the motherboard (asrock z170m extreme4) bios and it's not crashed since... fingers crossed.
