Ok recieved a DOA hard drive from ocuk i have recieved my rma
number email they are not asking me what i want to do whether i want
a replacement or refund which is odd.
Are they just supposed to guess? can i claim postage cost?and if so how?
I found it alarming that a guy told me you can contact our team or go through western digital surely a product that arrives at your door faulty or broken
is simply an rma to them and a swift replacement sent back is this likely to take
months? it's not like it was working and has broken after a few months or whatever it's arrived broken. No idea what to do am i supposed to put a letter in the parcel requesting a replacement?

No, RMA's are very fast these days, whether you send it to overclockers.co.uk or the hard-disk manufacturer. Use the webnote system or just ring the support line. if the drive was DOA they will chip in for the postage.

Eugh DOA sucks. You won't get your p+p refunded. Whenever a HDD of mine dies i go straight through the manufacturer as it's quick and easy as you can quite often get an advanced ship where by they send you the new one first. Usual turnaround in this case is about 1 working week. Most of my experience has been with Maxtor though.

But the law states any retailer have to refund p&p for a faulty on delivery product. Why on earth would i go to the postage expense of sending it to germany?

Some companies Cross-Ship.

They take your Credit Card number.

They send you a box with a new Device in it.

You put the faulty one in that box and hand it back to the delivery guy.

They receive the faulty one and test it. If it is borked they delete your Credit Card details. Otherwise they charge you.

Sweet and swift. Everyone is covered.
