Did you damage the pins? If so your warranty is void

True, but if they were already damaged when you took the mobo out of the packaging then you have the right to send it back and they will send you a replacment.

2 pins were broken, 1 snapped and one bent when out of the packaging. inspected closely with a scope and saw that i couldnt do anything about it, so i should get it RMA'ed?

speaking of which, will they even let me know the outcome before they send it back if they think i did it? cos thats just a pain.

The board should have a plastic protector covering the pins. If you bent/snapped the pins then I doubt they will offer a replacement.

I've RMA'd two Mobos in the past that arrived with bent pins (both Asus boards as it happens). Whether they were 'used' or just left the factory like that I don't know, but I got them replaced no problem both times.

oh they were bent as soon as i took the cap of back in march, i just never got round to RMA'ing it, but due to my striker extrme dieing last week, i thought it was about time and to save me some cash as well.. i put the cap on right after i took the board out, so its brand new, just 2 bent/snapped pins is all.

well, they should send the board new/old back by friday me thinks, i sent it to them on monday evening, just before 5ish.
