How does the RMA work when returning a faulty grahpics card?

i recieved a 4890 on friday that was on this week only for £59.99

Having tried the card in 3 different pcs including my own i can confirm that its definetly *&^%$£", the screen has lines all over even during bios bootup.

I would like to return it for the same card ( not a refund ) so how does the postage back to overclockers etc work? and do they just refund me or will they swap the card for the same model?

Thanks,

  1. You send it back
  2. They test it
  3. You can either have refund or replacement
  4. They refund postage.

If it isn't faulty, you get charged an "NFF" fee

how does the NFF work if i send it back within the first 7 days?

the card is definetly faulty but i have read a few times of people having items charged a NFF when there has been a problem.

If you RMA, they test for faults and when the fault is found you get postage refunded.

if you send back under DSR, then you don't get postage costs back.

If your certain it's faulty, you probably won't get charged NFF with a problem as severe as that

Unfortunately I got the same issue.

Have tested it on 2 systems.

i7-920 running XP 32bit

Was fine on desktop, but image errors on 3d mark 06/03.

i7-2600k running Window 7 64bit (Old install and fresh install)

Image errors on os loading screen and desktop, and most benchmarks had some sort of image corruption. Bluescreened on 3d Mark 06 on my old install running CCC. Fresh install with just the Display Driver faired a tad better, but still major image corruption :/

I'll have to sort out the RMA tonight. :>

Fortunatley this was for use in a cheap build and not my main system.
