Hi guy's I have a pair of g.skill hz pc-6400 2048

Both Sticks will boot into bios but one stick will not boot windows on it's own(I get .dll errors) Sometimes I can get both sticks to boot into XP , I am guessing this is because sometimes windows will load into the good stick even though both are installed.
When I can get both to boot I seem to pass all memory tests(even memtest86 running overnight)

Does that sound possible?

I have been getting getting corrupt files in windows for a while now and didn't know which part was at fault.

So from that can I rule out motherboard,Hard drive etc.. error and be fairly sure it's the ram.

And if I need to RMA the ram will I have to send both sticks back? It would be nice to keep the good stick and still have a working system while I RMA.

And finaly who would it be best to RMA with OCUK or G.Skill?

Thanks

If it was a dual-channel kit (and it probably was) you'll need to send back both pairs.

Contact OcUK and ask them which would be best.

I've returned G.Skill ram via OcUK before, it took a good 7 weeks not that I was bothered because I was using some other ram, I have heared of other G.Skill RMA's taking a lot less, you may do better doing the RMA straight through G.Skill, I think their RMA's are done in the Netherlands by the way.

From experience; If its older than 28 days OCUK will just test the ram and if found faulty will send back to Manufacturer for RMA. So may be quicker to RMA it directly yourself.
