Hi all,

Recently rma'd my MSI P67 board (with a competitor).

Its been rejected due to "track damage"

Is it worth me asking for it back and selling as damaged needing some tlc?

Have they clarified what that means? Do you have a photo of the board before you sent it? If so I would ask them to send you a picture of the damage to compare.

Yeah, they need to show you why they've rejected it. Based on my own RMA experiences, I can guess which retailer this is.

You may be able to RMA it with MSI directly if it's something very minor?

She said on the phone that MSI might charge me "25 quid" plus vat.

Which is horrendous. Plus I have already spent 6 quid sending it over to them.

just scrap it or sell it as faulty and pick up a cheap second hand z68 board

pref asus or gigabyte

that's what I would do,the repair costs are too much

Yeah it's a board that isn't worth much now.

If they want to charge you to get it back, and MSI will potentially charge you £30, it isn't going to be worth it.

I'd still want to see this damage. It could have been caused in their handling of it.

I can tell you 100% it wouldn't happen with gigabyte track damage and all,you would most likely get it fixed for free

asus are terrible for rma also, but they make reliable boards,if its user damage then you've had it

I just saw your post on another forum, and I guessed the retailer correctly. You can see my thread too with equally poor RMA service.

They're going to ask for £20+VAT to send it back to you.

If you pester them they may return it for free, depending on their whim.

If they insist on charging you £24, considering you wouldn't get more than about £35 for it after postage when it's working perfectly, it might be best to do that.
