So I got in touched with Overclockers to RMA my faulty 280X and the adviser said it would take 5 days to test the card and if found faulty it would het sent back to ASUS for repair or replacement and that will take another 28 days.

I mean come on that's like 5 weeks what am I supposed to do in that time? this is just not on so I have made a complaint.

Anyone had any issues like this?

My 7990 spent 6 weeks in RMA (5 at ASUS due to Christmas holidays). Was a good time to catch up on some TV shows (Breaking Bad). Not much you could do I'm afraid, that's why I avoided ASUS for my next purchase as I believe other brands have less lengthy RMA processes with OcUK.

That does not sound good

If the card is under a year old, I'm pretty sure OCUK deal with it themselves rather than send it across the globe.

They said this applies for the first 28 days which I have never heard before.

All other retailers I have had a problem have replaced items which are not over 12 moths old.

As for a refund they said they won't give me not sounding good at all.

So I suppose I'll just send it off tomorrow and see what happens then.

Not much else I can do really.

Its pretty standard, thats why this thread was made

Although Asus does good stuff, I avoid them cause there RMA is rubbish and takes ages.

Yeah I'm with you on the rubbish support from Asus I had a router made from them and their support was the worst I have experienced. They don't even know what they are doing half the time had to speak to so many different people and was just gong round in circles.

I have sent the card off today so it's just a waiting game now and see what happens not got a good feeling though

So I have received an email from overclockers saying I will receive a replacement card tomorrow and have received. My shipment email.

I'm so glad it was dealt with so quickly.

So I have received the replacement card and have put it in and all is good.

The games that were not working before work fine and the card seems a lot quitter now, it was just spinning the fan up and down all the time before and was mega loud.

The overclock was turned off in CCC so I've turned it on.

Hopefully all should be good now.

I think I'm better getting a 780 or a 290x for better performance just need to do something with the 280 pm if interested guys

Frequent blue screens and crashing, was unable to paly games or YouTube videos and lines in the display and the system was generally too slow.
