Hey guys,

I was giving my pc a clean up today so as per usual i took everything out and then put everything in. Problem is that windows is not detecting my 6gb of ram. Only 1 stick of 2gb is being detected.

I took all the sticks out and tested one by one and they seem to be working ok. I also found out that only 1 memory bank is working on the motherboard, i.e. only 1 ram stick is being read. The other 5 do not work.

To add insult to injury after re-seating my cpu water cooler i found out that the cpu slot on the motherboard had some unusual looking pins, they seem slightly bent. I tried straightening them but i don't think they are ok.

Could the problem be due to that? or is there something else causing it. I have taken every thing out 3 times and put it back in but it has not worked.

Can i RMA the mobo? Right now last thing i want is to get a new one :(

Please help.

they dont seem broken but definitely out of place from where i can see. I have tried moving them but it does not seem to work.

By the way, i will look into getting it repaired but if it is going to cost me a lot and not to mention time without a pc, what would be a comparable mobo to get? I do not want to spend a lot, something which is similar would suffice.

i really do not want an upgrade right now because im more than happy with my current performance. I have not looked at those motherboards, i doubt they have backward compatibility with 1366 processors.

Right i bought the B-grade version of the same board, installed and everything, the memory problem is gone so i guess the bent pins were the cause. Now a new problem,

No sound from the back audio panel. I have tried using the realtek software manager in windows to see what is happening and normally as soon as i plug in something the menu shows which audio output is active. But that is not the case, all audio ports in the menu are greyed out.

Could this be due to the fact the board was B-grade and it slipped out without getting fixed?

Ok i tried that, the back panel is not detected but the front panel with mic and line in shows up as in use in the realtek menu. Only left side of headphone works. The 5.1 does not work.

I did ask ocuk yesterday that what can be done if the board is faulty. They said ask asus and if they think it can be repaired then i can RMA it.
