RMA or is there a solution

there may be cheaper options on the web, but due to rules i cannot link any competitors
just because ocuk only have a couple of boards of the 1366 variaty doesnt mean anyone else will have the same stock

look on an auction site, buy used aslong as its fully working

you can try with asus but im 99% sure they wont repair, next best option is to search for pc/mb repair firms

you might be able to straighten but from those pics i can even see where the bent pin is so it must be badly bent upwards

by the way, how reliable are B-grade stuff? Do we get a description as to what was wrong with the item?

There shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

B Grade products often come without some or all of the accessories.

That shouldn't be a problem for you as you're replacing an identical motherboard so you don't need them.

If you have questions about a specific product then get in touch with OcUK.

i really do not want an upgrade right now because im more than happy with my current performance. I have not looked at those motherboards, i doubt they have backward compatibility with 1366 processors.

Right i bought the B-grade version of the same board, installed and everything, the memory problem is gone so i guess the bent pins were the cause. Now a new problem,

No sound from the back audio panel. I have tried using the realtek software manager in windows to see what is happening and normally as soon as i plug in something the menu shows which audio output is active. But that is not the case, all audio ports in the menu are greyed out.

Could this be due to the fact the board was B-grade and it slipped out without getting fixed?

easy fix,pop in the bios and set onboard sound to ac97

theres no difference in sound from ac97-hd audio its just ac97 isnt jack detecting

Ok i tried that, the back panel is not detected but the front panel with mic and line in shows up as in use in the realtek menu. Only left side of headphone works. The 5.1 does not work.

I did ask ocuk yesterday that what can be done if the board is faulty. They said ask asus and if they think it can be repaired then i can RMA it.
