I bought a OCZ GameXstream 850w "Silent" PSU earlier in the week and I think it needs returning as the fan is very loud.

I have a Fractul R2 with 4 x 120mm fans (900-1200rpm) + 2 x 140mm (800rpm) + Arctic Freezer (1800/2000rpm) and the loudest thing is the PSU. To the extent that you can really hear it through the " Silent" case.

Anyone used one of these ?

Done a bit of research and apparently under normal usage the PSU fan should hit about 22db under full load it will hit 35db, I think mine is stuck on full speed. A quick look on the OCZ forums show this is a known issue. I will raise an RMA with the supplier (NOT OCUK) on Tuesday and hopefully the next one will be ok :D

OCZ RMA to the Netherlands, good luck with postage.
Apart from this, their RMA service is excellent :)

Might be worth just buying a new one.

Yeah it will be going back to retailer, was delivered on Tuesday.

The worse thing is that it took me an absolute age to get the cables all nice in my new R2 , now ill have to do it all over again :(

Called the retailer and have got an RMA authorized. I explained that I had lost confidence in OCZ and am getting a refund plus a free next working day delivery added to my account.

So I have about £80 to play with and I want something reliable, silent and ideally it needs to see me through the next 3 years any suggestions?
