RMA returned item gone wrong?

I'm gonna sound like a real bum licker to OcUK here but . . .

I've never had one warranty problem or RMA issue with OcUK in around 10 years of returning more than 10 products in that time for one reason or another, always got good service.

I've had a few problems with other companys, so the morale of the story is stick to one company you know will give you good customer service.

UPDATE: Lmao Well they have just offerd me a 5850 ... which is still slower than my 4870x2 .. and tho im tempted ive asked for a 4870x2 still.. (hopefully ill get a 5870 out of it lol!)

that is a tempting offer, but keep pushing as it is a worse card (ignoring CF issues with X2). Atleast they're willing to offer you something from the new line

Im gunna accept :( mainly as i can sell it for around £210 new! and the 4870x2 are going for around £230! i dont mind loseing the £20 lol

Know your rights, ive had to RMA to many things recently and its a pain, some etailers are better than others.
Some will try and fob you off in the knowledge that 50% of people will just give up and write it off.
The law is on your side just read up or go to the CAB for advice, it free and easy to use.
There a few company's i will not use due to there RMA service or lack of, but there are some good ones out there.

For example i had to RMA a CPU to AMD in Holland, there website for RMAs is a non working bit of crap most likely to put people off, so i emailed direct and have received my new CPU today.

Should have accepeted the 5850 worth more than the 4870x2
second hand 4870x2 go for £120-£140 mate

The 5850 is a great card, should be able to clock it to 5870+ speeds & a lot more if using the MSI/Asus Bios, uses a lot less power than the 4870x2.

Is that from Sapphire or the knobs in Bolton ?

If its the Bolton boys tell them you want a 4870x2 or better. If they cant offer you a 4870X2 then you should get a 5970 or a refund.

Is the warranty equivalent value or equivalent product if they can't get the original? If it's value it should be a 5870, if it's product it should be a 5970 :)

The way I see it, is you should get what you paid for. Ideally a direct replacement with a fresh warranty. If that's not possible its a equivalent/better or a full refund to replace the faulty card you got sold.

I'm pretty sure the retailer would receive a 5970 or the full purchases price under warranty.
