i purchased a biostar ta790gx 128m on the first of may last year , it arrived doa and was replaced not long after . was playing bioshock2 monday night and my system froze , so i restarted it and nothing apart from it keep powering on and rebooting . while i checked everything inside the case i noticed that led_d1 was lit up , checked the manual and it said memory error so i removed the memory and replaced it . powered up the system and still nothing , i had some old ddr2-6400 so i tried that and same result . i also tried the memory in a mates system and it works fine , my question is = is it another dead board and time for rma ?

edit : i have already tried resetting the bios to no effect

If you have tried the memory in different slots and tried a CMOS reset then it's looking like RMA the motherboard.

Tried a bench test? It worked for me.

It would be unfortunate if you had to pay delivery back to yourself if your RMA was unsuccessful.

how do you mean a bench test ? , if you mean what i think you mean i have no sare psu to test it as my only psu is in my intel setup since the amd board mem error

He means try running the board outside (on mobo box) the case with barebone components in there. This would mean taking the PSU out of your other build and testing it, otherwise as stated before you might have to pay for the failed RMA
