RMA'd my dodgy 5770 / VBIOS flash.

After having random crashing problems in 3D apps with my 5770, I have finally RMA'd the sucker.

Don't ask, I tried EVERYTHING, even spent £90 on a shiney new PSU which was unnecessary.

Well actually i tried NEARLY everything. After RMA'ing it, and still puzzled and loooking for the 'final solution' I went on the Sapphire forums, and ended up emailing Sapphire tech, to which they promptly replied with a new VBIOS version and flash program / instructions.

Just to put my mind at ease in case the RMA testing comes back inconclusive, is there anyone out there who had crashing problems with their 5xxx and managed to sort it by flashing a new VBIOS supplied from the manufacturer?

Had crashing problems with a Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X. It was solved with a modded mobo BIOS supplied by Gigabyte

I have crashing problens in 2D mode on one of my 5770s, but putting it into my second slot fixes it and dont crash.

Basically I have one card that keeps on crasing, and one that doesnt, and it works completely fine with them installed with the working one in the first slot.
