any ideas how long it takes for a replacment board to appear  from overclockers? should I be thinking about buying a stand in m/b till mine returns? or are they normally pretty quick....
Im getting withdrawal symptoms !!!

thats more like what I was expecting/hoping for.
2 months + ....eek my board will be 4 gens out of date by the time I get it back...

:) hmmmm ok just to be clear, this is not a bash OCUK thread

its a genuine question as I've never had to RMA a motherboard before and wondered what to expect. Seems like this is maybe a sensitive subject?

Incidentally I've another asus(striker extreme) board which has just rolled over and died in another machine too

the Maximus formula was bought mid feb and was fine until mid May at which point it stopped posting at all.
received by returns on 20th May......

well just been informed that no more stock of the Maximus formula SE is available.
quite fancy the x48 Foxconn black ops instead ...any good?

I bought a maximus formula (non se) as a get my by until the SE came back (as I suspected it might be a good while)
So it sounds like flashing that to rampage and getting a refund on the SE sounds like the best course of action.

Ok just haad a note back offering a non watercooled maximus extreme or rampage as a replacement for my watercooled Formula SE.
I specifically wanted to w/c the northbridge which is why I bought the SE :(
Apparently a Foxconn black ops isnt possible  as an alternative ...
Not much point in accepting another ASUS board (esp given their track record so far, whats the bets the next one expires prematurely as well )
so that leaves a refund or maybe a q9450 as a useful alternative :D

p.s. anyone else find the 'webnote' communications a total pain?

H'mm cant you pay the difference in price of the Maximus Formula to the Foxconn black ops? if you really want that board, send them a webnote you never know they might say okay. ;)

I think it's quite good I prefer it as I cannot make personal phone calls at work normally (unless lunchtime) so I sneak off a webnote if I have a problem or need info etc, I usually get a reply within 24 hours, sometimes they are really busy.

Tried the 'pay the balance' approach as that was my first thought but that wasnt taken up. Not too worried there though as it was pointed out that black ops is a poor choice for the cost
I can use my personal email no problem so cutting n pasting in all the relevant numbers and previous conversation is a pain in the RS :D
They do get back to you pretty quick though.

Ho Hum we'll get there in the end (I hope)

well it is, but I thought I'd have some blowing quietly through the case so all the chips not lucky enough to get a water block, get some nice cool air instead. lots of slow fans => lots of air moving quietly :D
