Im inthe process of rma'ing my 1950pro(sapphire) due to the black screen issue when the card overheats at the measly temp(for a gpu) of 70 degrees. Is it known if any replacment card (presumamly from current/newer stock) a free from this fairly well known issue ?

I got the card pretty much when they were released and it has always had the issue. I reied to life with it, but its getting annoying now as i try to play eve online again which heats the card up faster then any other currently available game !

Setting full speed fan helps abit, but usualy just means it takes a little longer to hit its max temp rarther then stopping it from black screening.

If its after 28days then it will have to go back to Sapphire (means you RMA it to OcUK as normal, and they then send it back to Sapphire) so id expect at least an 8 week wait.

I dunno, I contacted sapphire first, and they said contact supplier. I got the rma now, just hopeing this blackscreening thing has been sorted with newer batches.

Yeah it needs to go to the supplier first, they then send it back to Sapphire who will sort it out, but with a bit of luck the supplier will be able to deal with it and get credit from Sapphire save you the wait. :)
