Remember to factor in the cost of the tools as well if you're going to build it yourself.
Absolute minimum, you'll need a bottom-bracket tool and a cassette tool if you dont have these already.
Is that a money/cards wallet or a sprocket wallet?
Looks good either way. i wanted to get a sprocket wallet but i only have 1 sprocket....and it's on my bike
Good luck. I did something similar (112 miles, 10,000ft) 4 weeks ago and I've never felt so bad after a bike ride.
my summer bike i got off wiggle. got a few clicking sounds which iam trying to track down but having difficulty. think it the crank/BB but not sure how to strip it down

What's a sprocket wallet? I've never heard of one.
It's what track riders use to keep all of their different sized sprockets in. I saw that it had a couple of pictures of sprockets on it.
[Damien];24680739 said:The Crux (I've got the 2012 version) is a decent bike granted, but imo for a Cyclo-commuter is a poor choice over the Tricross. If you're after something that can dual purpose for both commuting and chasing segments then I suppose trading mudguard mounts for a bit of extra stiffness (over the Tricross) is fine, so get the Crux. Compared to a decent proper road bike though it's poor.
I thought mine was decent until I got my Canyon. Now it just feels like a steel shopper with a basket on the front. I do have 32h wheels on mine though and 32mm wire beaded Marathon Plus on though so I'm not helping it much...
I've got clip on mudguards on my Crux and they do the job so if you really want the Crux then it's not a dealbreaker not to have mounts.
Some have a sewn-in liner with padding, others come with a separate inner short which has the chamois. Most of my MTB shorts have the removable inner and I wear bibs which are much comfortable. Also lets you wear waterproof baggies over bib tights through the winter.
Wiggle/DHB do padded undershorts that look like boxer shorts. I use them on social/pub rides
You can always wear padded shorts under jeans/baggy shorts
yeah just looked around and these look like the best bet tbh ill try a cheap pair.. im sure i won't be riding much because im just TOO busy thank god for my commute the only way to fit in cycling really.
Also think of the added benefit of looking like you have a large(er) package
