One of the lads at work has just turned up on this
Cannondale CaadX
Awesome bikes, although I was slightly disappointed with the CaadX as it's heavier than it really should be, there are plenty of other disc Cannondales a similar weight and setup yet more designed for CX (Synapse Carbon & Hi MOD's). To me the road version (CAAD) should be a lighter affair as it's aimed more towards the road.
Also the rear caliper on the CaadX being outside the dropout really limits what mudguards you can fit...!
The rim road Cannondales have fantastic bright colours and designs, yet for the disc's Cannondale seem to have favoured black, with options of more black and a stinky yellow/green snotty colour! Cannondales should be loud and in your face! Not look like something my dad would commute on:
Caad10 Black,
Synapse Rival.
The only exception I've spotted was the
Synapse Tiagra - the kinda loud design & colours I expect from Cannondale! Just a shame Tiagra
If I didn't get my Giant Defy 1 I'd probably have got a Caad 8 or 9. I've a friend who loves them, has an 8, Slice and Synapse. He's a bit of a Cannondale groupie, he hired the Caad10 Ultegra and EVO Di2 when over in Majorca before deciding which to buy, he now has the Caad10 Ultegra.
Nothing to report on my last few commutes, wind was stronger yesterday than all week but ambient was ok. Better today but feeling cooler, can tell the weather is changing... Rain tomorrow!
Getting a bit of a grind again from my BB area, gonna strip and clean sunday as well as getting some miles in. Commuted every day this week after a busy half week (after my weeks holiday). Done 100 miles in 8 days (1 rest day in the middle) which is pretty high for me!
