First ride since having a bike fit done at my LBS, made a big difference in comfort although due to the change in position I fear a more suitable saddle might be needed.

It was adjusted quite a bit and I was told the frame was too small in an ideal world but it will make do until I can justify a shiny new bike. I got the Boardman second hand in a medium (I'm 6ft) so its not perfect.

Back to some climbing next weekend :)

Before the bike fit, just when I got the bike and didn't change the height barely.

After, with new stem which apparently may divide opinions!

Either way its massively improved for my riding.

Really nice weather in the latter part of today so I popped out for a slow ride with a non-cyclist friend. As frustrating as going slow is it was pretty good to get out and also know that I wasn't knackering my legs too much for tomorrow.

Also, Great Manchester Cycle today. Shame I missed it.

weather is nice and I'm tempted by my knee is still 50/50 :( scared to push up hills/out saddle.. annoying as hell to say the least.
Bummer. Mine's not playing ball yet either, it sort of decided to let go last week after I'd been out for a run. Need to see the work physio this week and decide what I have to do about it. I'm off the bike this week, in the meantime. Painful to ride in 1st gear which is 42/19, so it doesn't look like good news to me.

Legs said no at today's road race, really disappointing as the circuit suits me and I honestly think I could have won. Never had my legs feel quite so bad, felt so weak, literally 100w off where I should have been. Hopefully two days rest will bring them back to life

Beautiful day here today. I spent the afternoon cleaning my bikes and I'm going to go out for a short quick ride this evening.

I'm thinking of taking tomorrow off work and going and doing a flat 70 round trip out to Delamere forest for some coffee and cake. I've not done a metric yet this month, and I quite fancy it.

Yup was good, except for my puncture and having to finish towards the back of the pack. Disappointing average speed too which wasn't helped by having to stop and then get going again. Shame really as I was chain ganging it for a fair way with some club members till the tyre went.

Cool. I'm thinking of doing this route. If you were coming from wherever it is in South Manchester we could meet in Lymm maybe? I'd be setting off between nine and half past, I think, and with the speed you ride it'll probably take you less time to get there than me, so perhaps if I text you as I'm leaving and then we can meet up there? There's a car park on Crouchley Lane in Lymm at about 15.3 miles into my route. I guess you can peel off on the return leg before I go through Warrington, around about mile 54? Sound alright?

Send me your mobile number in trust and then I'll let you know when I'm heading off.

Oh yeah, and I'll only be averaging 16mph at best over that distance, so you'll have to pedal with one foot unclipped or something ;)

Quick 15 miler this evening, a couple of times up a nearby hill to take in a couple of segments I fancied having a crack at. Neither time up the main hill was close to my PR (4:55) but the two ascents were bizarrely consistent, both coming in at 5:12. Not sure how I managed that!

I've also finally dragged my average speed (outdoor, no turbo!) for the year to date up to 15.5mph, which is one of my goals for the year. Now to maintain or better that for the remaining 6 months...

Looks good. I'll drop you a trust in a moment.

My legs are actually still really knackered so I don't think I'll be going at super speeds at all tomorrow. On the flats it isn't so bad but as soon as we hit a hill I imagine I'll be asking you to wait for me at the top :)

Yeah - I saw your ride on Strava. A puncture on that ride really sucks :/ What happened? The road was quite clear last year.

It's a really flat route, so I don't think we'll be hitting many hills! It's about 2200 feet over the whole 70 miles, so barely any climbing in there. It's the sort of ride I'll do on my single speed bike one of these days, but not tomorrow ;)
