Road Cycling

I can suffer from eczema when I have a reaction to something. This stuff reminds me a lot of aqueous cream with the smell it has. So I don't mind too much. Just smells medicated
funny you say that name, I remember reading a review mentioning the same thing.

100% a sensor. GPS data as good as it is with garmin will never be as accurate as a sensor attached to your hub, guess you've bought the magene sensor pack? i've got that too and it works really well. I've used hub sensors for years, can't image going back to gps alone.

Yep. The Magene set. Had their power meter crank on an old bike and always worked well.

More goodies from my mate Ali

Fits nicely into the Mattone. Just waiting for my emergency TPU tube. I’ve lost my compact tyre levers so need to find or buy new ones

Electronic pumps seemed like a solution looking for a problem, but I love mine, it’s actually brilliant. So good for travel too where taking a tyre up to pressure with a hand pump takes forever and CO2 is hit or miss on accuracy.

I pumped up two of my partners tyres last night to try it out and I was impressed with the speed. Quite noisy but it weighs less than my pump/co2 inflater and cannister and it does 3-4 tyres. Seems like a no brainer to carry this around

yeah walthamstow marshes , rodding valley and epping forrest
Very nice! What setup do you use for rides like that ("gravelly", but probably not too technical?). I've got an old Triban which I've whacked some new wheels and 37mm tyres on. Would that do the job, do you think? Loathe to buy a new bike for gravel as, living in London, the reality is that doing gravel frequently is unlikely. But I'd like to get out and do Richmond and Epping occasionally.

Sounds like an ideal gravel bike to be honest. For the UK i'd be tempted to stick mud guards on, or at the least an ass saver type thing.

Yeah sounds good! I'm SW, Tooting way. Definitely keen to try some off road stuff!

Need to join a club around here and see if there are any of this sort of thing available. Looks stunning. I don't massively like doing road rides in this weather as they are grotty, potholly and potentially icy. Some nice gravel would be great though.

Quick Q…….what do you need to be able to mount a GoPro (light) on the underside of a Garmin mount?

I have the official Garmin out front mount, but I can’t seem to find where you buy a replacement ‘puck’ thing, that includes the GoPro tabs underneath. Surely something like that exists?!

I keep toying with the idea @fez but I’m just not social enough!

Though what I am going to do is book another sportive after this one as it gives me something to keep training for and then eventually whenever we do get an OCUK ride arranged I won’t be (as much) of a liability!

I just 3d printed one - if you have a 3d printer or a mate with one, takes 30 mins :

There’s some sellers on eBay etc that sell similar, not sure on costs but I’m sure I’ve seen it.
