@Roady I just picked it up, thanks both, so I thought they were carbon wheels but it’s on mavic krysium disc s25s, so an alloy set but a decently light and qualityset at least that will be fine for winter.
I have a set of more aero wheels I will likely put on it anyway, it’s a through axle on the wheel

It's working great now so must have just needed more bed in time after the clean. Probably covered 100 miles to get them to bed in!
Woken up early due to a storm (4am), I check the weather forecast as I expected sun and it said it would stop at 6am so got the gravel bike out. It was still chucking it down at 8am. I went out a bit after 4pm in 30c heat and traffic was terrible on the outbound journey. Get back absolutely covered in sweat and nearly an hour later and a shower, I am still sweating. Think I'll need another shower before bed...
So, I've gone for the folding bike idea to take out with me on my work trips. I'm making in roads to get more healthy (it's early days...) and this can only help.
I couldn't justify £450 on something I may never use and the £325 model is out of stock until August and I want to use it over the next couple of months.
A bit of eBay searching and I found an earlier Carrera Intercity (2022 model I think) that I prefer over the current entry level model A) because it has Claris gearing and B) because it looks really smart in red

edit - I give up on the pic...
I must admit, it takes up more boot space than I was expecting but it is definitely workable. I'll look at maybe strapping it to the side of the boot when I get home but I'm currently on a work trip and managed to grab it on my travels (and save myself a nearly 100 mile round trip!)
I might have a chance to try it tomorrow (currently staying at Glasgow airport and don't fancy my first ride on a used bike I haven't checked over yet to be in crazy traffic) but that will be temperature dependent!
EDIT - Couldn't resist taking it for a little spin! It rides really nicely for what it is. Sorted the nose up saddle and evened out the lever pull on front and back (OCD thing...). Grips made my hands grubby and front brakes judder but that is easily sorted! Also it shifted in the boot and the magnets came detached so the brake calliper has scratched the frame a tad (I certainly didn't notice it was like that when I got it). I'm going to add some kind of protective tape or something as I can see that being a regular feature!

Its quite warm at the moment. I was on the trainer on Tuesday night while the England game was on doing some sweet spot and got rather warm. Went out at 8pm last night for what was going to be a gentle ride but as usual got carried away. Was a hot sweaty mess when I got home. Took about 20 minutes for the sweat to stop pouring off me once I got inside
Lovely weather apart from the heat though. Shame the nights are closing in again already. Feels like summer has just got going!

Thats dedicated. I would love to be able to get up at 5:30am to go riding but I haven't the constitution for it. I would also need to be in bed asleep by about 9pm.
Mornings are the best time of the day. Get out before work has ground you down and very few people are out then. Traffic was horrific on Tuesday afternoon, took me 12 minutes to travel 1km to the first set of traffic lights and had to experience impoliteness like this:

Its something they really need to get a handle on because I swear that even drivers who will always give you 1.5m when overtaking have zero qualms about flying past you in the opposite direction at full speed 20-30cm from your bars. I have this sort of thing when I have my boys on the cargo bike. Its madness.
Yeah that looks awful from the still so I assumed it was particularly bad in person. Did they slow down at all? Are you reporting it?
my chineese wheels arrived on Wednesday..
had a full mare when taking tyres of fthe old wheels and ended up dropping them at the bike shop...
tyre swap - and they have taped new wheels up for tubless for me - made me £100 poorer lol
but had no strenght or time to faff around...
500grams saved lol need to go for a quick spin on them around the block before i pack all up and fly to Girona on Sunday

Always! 90% of my cycling purchases are pure vanity and aesthetics. I justify them by lying to myself they will either make me faster or more comfortable though. I'm not a poseur you see, I'm a very serious cyclist

It’s all for charity too I will add, so £900 has netted them some nice dosh and me a nice bike
I always loved the camo look (they did other twists on it in Blue & the S-Works was crazy Pink/Purple), the lack of front cable integration and is what held me off until the SL7 which had it. The SL7 has more aero tweaks to make it faster (as during the SL6 time the Venge was still the aero bike) but they also sacrificed some of the comfort and lightness of the SL6 doing it. The SL6 is lighter!

It has a 142 rear hub mentioned so isn't 'SCS' and is Thru-axle. You're safe! Mavic wheels are ok (never been a fan but others are). Check the Praxis BB30 pressfit bb on it, some of them are 'collet' types (came on my Diverge 2015 - it had metal prongs pressed outwards to grip the shell) which grit/dirt easily gets into the gaps of. With mine I took it out and cleaned it so many times the design of the collet edges had worn the BB shell making other BB30 a poor fit. I should have replaced it sooner - I used the Wheelmfg BB30-OUT-1 to goto Shimano cranks on it, then last time replaced that with a Praxis BB30 (new-collet uses an expanding rubber ring to grip the shell) which might be what yours has originally. My SL7 has a threaded BB and I much prefer it...!
Yeah can take a while, rub them a bit, hammer them a bit, fairly normal riding just be conscious they can behave a bit like 'new'. Then find a fast descent I'll really 'cook' them is my usual 'run in'!

Guess it might even fit into the passenger footwell in a pinch if you needed the whole of the rear for something!?
