Awesome advice from xdcx lives here

Thanks man! That's some really great info :D Really appreciated. I think I will need to follow the same for my girlfriend, she is constantly shattered when she gets home from work.

This should kick start the Christmas/New Year period quite nicely :D

One final thing, and I think Roady maybe covered this is the past: With the Quorn chicken pieces, I find them quite hard to cook with, unless you have a sauce. Is it best to cook them a bit in water first, to defrost, and then add to a sauce/stir fry veggies for example?

That realisation your first ever 72 mile Sportive is only two and a half months away and you're only around 60% of where you need to be because of work/family/cack weather getting in the way of training/conditioning.

:(

I really need to get some miles in over Xmas.

Sign up for the festive 500 and that should get you on your way ;) Either that or ride slowly, if you rode at an average of 13mph, you should be able to ride all day at that pace.

72 miles is totally do-able. It's the elevation that could be the killer. How much climbing is there?

You'll be fine, pace it well and know the profile and you really don't need to worry about not having ridden that sort of distance before.

Drink regularly and eat sufficiently and you might actually enjoy it ;)

Worth also adding Soya is one of the only complete proteins (all 20 aminos) so worth considering adding to your diet. Eggs have one of the highest bioavailability scores when it comes to protein.

I eat plenty of meat & fish but enjoy all the other foods, fruits, beans & nuts, veg etc mentioned too and a varied diet is only a good thing.

In addition to supplementing Vit D, Calcium & Zinc should also be on the radar.

Thanks
These are SKS Chromoplastics, 35mm which are good for tyres up to 28mm. Not sure which is the est for teammates. These seem to do as good a job as any.

with postal strike letter may not get to the North pole but
Any advice on which/any mudguards will work for this 3mm clearance ?,

I am guessing that only the likes of SKS raceblades will do, with just a metal filet under the fork - but with these, mud would then just be thrown into fork tube.
Attaching clip into inset brake bolt looks as though it will be fun, also need P clips for bottom of fork that does not have eyes.
