Road Cycling

I've stayed in that hotel in Stockholm, thought it looked familiar as I was scrolling!

All this white bike chat reminds me of the Genesis Flyer. A bike that is aimed at commuting and winter training and comes with pre installed mudguards. Last year it came in "always looks clean" dark blue. This year, its white. No stock of the old model in large anywhere. FUUUUUU...

I've ordered in white anyway on my Cycle to Work scheme so plenty of cleaning awaits. I went for the Exposure Strada in the end as a front light, looks great. Thanks for the various recommendations. :)

I've got a Genesis Flyer. Model with steel forks.

Rode the mtb in again today, it was horrible last night in the slush. I got utterly soaked.

Decided to do the canal path, which was covered in hard cruddy snow. Damn that's hard to ride on. What a workout!

Glad to see some positive comments on the Flyer, I miss my old Dawes steel bike but a replacement with proper mudguards and clearances was a must. Delivery on Friday apparently. :)

Stock wheels are great, haven't trued them and done about 3000 miles.
Run fix, stock chainring (46) with 15 at the back, with 23mm tyres. Perfect gearing.

Not much else, stock saddle is fine, bought mudguards but with the brake bolt had to fit guards infront, so guard is a bit short so used 10" piece of rubber cut to shape and fitted to end of guard. Fitted rack.

Bought set of V-Sprint wheels as spare wheelset with 28mm tyres, but with 16T bit too high gear, think will go for 16T

Built by Jess Varnish's dad!

Cool.

Funnily enough I was telling my daughters about Jess Varnish last weekend as my daughters have just joined Halesowen Cycling club (where Jess cut her teeth I believe) - they're both into track racing (both quite young presently though so it's just for fun atm).

Got some Northwave Celsius GTX. Hopefully I'll stop going through overshoes if these fit me!

Wiggle 'Exclusive' colour for £99.99. It looks like the exclusive element is Northwave forgetting to colour the heel and the toes red.

I have a pair of these and even with Woolie Boolies or similar thick merino winter socks on I still get cold feet!:o:confused:

Wow. Hopefully they'll do fine for me! I generally can get away with just toe covers as long as it's not that cold. I think part of the problem is having a metal cleat near the toes. I really wanted something to suit MTBing too as overshoes last approximately one ride.

You probably fall off less than I do :p

This guy just followed me on Strava. He has an interesting bicycle!

I've used SRAM PC1130 for last two chains. Amazon Prime next day delivery for £13-14.

Can't say I notice any difference from the first two Ultegra 6800 chains I had.
