Another one for the Garmin Vector owners.....

Do you use a seperate cadence sensor?? Or does the Vector pedal do it?

I have the standard Garmin Edge Cadence Sensor attached to my crank arm but surely the Vector pedal should do the cadence as well so I can remove the cadence sensor?

Vectors do it all, was covered few pages back.

Di2, 2 batteries turned up today, killed one by trying to update firmware. Left the other alone, something fundamentally wrong with either my laptop or Di2 system.

weird - I used the software about three weeks ago to update firmware etc - never had any issues.......Good luck with getting it sorted. Very strange.

My legs have felt a bit funny after swimming on Wednesday. I swim a few times a year normally so I'm just not used to it. Anyway, with a 50 mile group ride tomorrow I thought I better check my legs work with a gentle pedal. Ended up setting a new max HR record and hitting 36mph at one point pressing on where I'd normally be coasting :o Legs were fine for cycling so that's all good.

I could have taken the nice bike out in hindsight as the roads are pretty much bone dry round here at the moment. I swapped it out from turbo spec (different rear wheel, stupid frame cover thingy and hanging gathering dust ;) ) and got it road ready in the hope that I can take it out tomorrow.

Talking of turbos, Aldi are selling off their fluid turbos. Latest price drop has them at £29.99 with a riser block. Not bad for someone who just wants to spin inside occasionally.

Managed to forget once again to try dropping the tyre pressures from the 70/77PSI I set the other day after my spill, ~19 miles (new best since I started this recreational cycling journey in January) and first time climbing over 1000 feet in a ride this afternoon. :)

Getting increasingly tempted to try going out on my rim braked racer with SPDs, once I've given it a check over, to see how my segment times compare to being on the skinny fatbike. Lot of mental demons to overcome though to do this, I lost all confidence in rim brakes after my RTA on my singlespeed just over three years ago, ploughing into the back of a stationary dustbin lorry at ~15-20mph due to failing brakes.

What's more likely is I try and find a full hydraulic braked road/adventure bike that has clearance for at least 700x40c tyres, with a front end that isn't too low, as I have a long term lower back injury from 2008 (that touch wood is currently doing pretty well).

what about a Genesis Vagabond?

Cheers, I think I might get the Diag Tool, but will try borrow the one again to get the battery up to date, it could be my laptop. It's working now but not in the set up I'd have 100% liked.

I rode my Felt today, omg I forgot how quick and effortless it is. Even quicker with the Zipps on it.

Lost a bottle for the first time today, around 35 miles in (half way). Only noticed when eating, must have happen moments before on quite a long descent was just coming in to a town so no biggie (and I wasn't going back looking for it) but it was full. I usually alternate bottles for this very reason but didn't for some reason today, derp. And I've ridden much rougher roads too.

Popped in to the clubs usual coffee stop (gastro pub) and got them to top up my remaining chalice. Shouted at the barmaid when she went to tip out the remnants which actually contained a fresh hydro tab :p

True, spent enough on it as it is! plus I'd only mess up putting them on. Want to get this di2 sorted first.

The day a firmware update crashes my bike is the day I stop riding. :p Just jealous really, I had big upgrade plans for this year (Di2 and a new front wheel) but neither will happen sadly. Hoping to get a custom Tripsuit sorted though.

Bit of tidying up on the summer bike this afternoon. I'm selling my garmin Vector pedals (power isn't for me) so I've put on some look keos instead. I got white ones so they look super blingy on black shimano cranks. I've also replaced the chain I broke last October with a new one, which is black and silver, so that's a bit blingy as well. I got a kmc one so it has proper link rather than one of those stupid shimano joining pins, which I suspect was the cause of the last chain snapping. I also had to replace the rear gear cable as the little end cap had come off so the cable had gone all splayed and messy, so I had to do battle with getting a new cable into the 105 shifter.

I've at least now got two bikes in working order. The commuter has a flat, but I'll fix that another day as it needs a serious clean while I'm at it.

Hahaha, rode with it today. Bag of spanners on the rear derailleur. Now all adjusted and shifting perfect. Glad I'm getting the nuances out the way early doors. Message me in trust as friend of mine races for nopinz so may be able to get you some money off.

Finally got out on the monthly group ride I've been planning to do since October :o Was good fun, nice group of people and the pace was just right for me. Only daft move was taking the wrong bike, would have been even better on the summer machine. Even if only for the reason that the discs on my winter machine have gone a bit "ASBO" ranging from a squeal to fog horn depending on how hard you tug on the levers :o

One guy had a Genesis Croix de Fer Titanium. What a lovely looking machine.
