Thinking about it, it'll be there because it's dead and only usable for mechanical spares which the bit your describing can't be changed I think?
Yeah I don't think it can be swapped unfortunately.

Hahaha, you got sucked in! Good choice though, it's a lot of bike for the money. Guessing you got it around/sub 2k?Well, that escalated quickly
Was thinking of getting the Di2 upgrade kit but in the end splurged on a new bike. Found what I thought was a bargain. A 2018 defy advanced SL with 49% off.
Utterly horrible. One of the 3rd party software/integration developers here did it, 11 hours and he dropped out after a single lap of the run as had gone too hard on the bike. He said the DNF rate was at 15% for those reaching T2 (as he did), far higher than expected. But he also said there where tons of crashes on the bike too - he saw at least 6 nasty ones which would've finished peoples races. Riders totally unprepared for the course and some really poor riding (he's done other Tri's). Organisers had made it the 'toughest in the UK' and had/have been criticised about how tough it is/was. 3rd Toughest/hilliest in Europe or something? It’s a horrible course for an IM.
If it's a replaceable part you might be able to identify it?I've had a mare tonight and broken my rear di2 derailleur when taking it all apart and putting it together, tightened a bolt up in the wrong order and have broken the plastic outer where the cage spring sits so now there is very little tension. Time to find a second hand one my own stupid fault.

Thanks for the reminder, @SoliD. I had joined but seems my Strava account didn't connect properly. Done now!
Had to have your rides set to public view too, which I know a lot of people don't
Haha, just saw them around £4k (rutland) and you said 49% off. But then again the Giant site still has the RRP at £7.5k!Yeah let’s say that so it makes me feel better!!
Good shout and thanks for reminding me.Did anyone enter the pledge to pedal thing on strava recently? Just got my £10 voucher from Halfords, probably the only useful challenge they've ever had, no minimum spend or anything!
Noticed the same with mine, had to reset Halfords password and relink things/reauthorise link in Strava. Thanks for the reminder, @SoliD. I had joined but seems my Strava account didn't connect properly. Done now!
Check the terms, it's outside rides over 30 mins.I just did it, says I’ve completed it but only shows 2 rides and even after setting a couple to public ive not hit 5 even with more than 5 rides meeting the terms!
*rubs hands together*After a ride when I ended up borrowing a tube and a mini pump, I'm reevaluating my ride kit-list. Any contributions to the thread appreciated:-
