Hi guys,

I was at the bike shop today and saw someone with a very similar helmet to this.

it was a lot more streamed lined not bulky and didn't have many vents at top. is there anything similar to this you can recommend that comes with a visor thats not bulk like a bern.

SHARP provide motorcycle helmets with safety ratings, no idea if something similar exists for cyclists helmets but I should think 'you get what you pay for' still carries some weight...

Don't need to spend the earth but I personally wouldn't feel overly confident but it'd still be better than nothing :)

a bad fitting helmet is probably worse than no helmet :) I'd say go to a bigger bike shop and try a few on, if you want to get something cheaper go to decathlon or halfords(I got my boardman helmet from them)

or even evanscycles

thanks all but like a novice i think i was confused. the chap i saw had a cycle cap, them cheap cotton ones , but it looked integrated in the helmet and was very slimline. the guy was some old geezer, so i doubt he spent over £30 for the helmet or maybe it was a simple road cycle helmet with a cap he was wearing under it.

looked very well protected, close fit but not bulky like you have a 5head. im gutted i didnt stop to ask where he got it from

this +1 - you can read all the reviews in the world but unless you try it on there is no guarantee it will fit you well - everyones head is a slightly different shape, even if the size is the same. i tried on multiple mtb helmets at CRC and found one fitted far better than the rest (iXS - a brand i hadn't even looked at before this)
