Roaming Profiles on 2008 Server

I've got a 2k8 server install running fine with one question:

How come administrator can't browse the user profile directories ?

All I get is a permission error. If I try to add administrator to the security settings it gives me another permission denied error and says I must take ownership !

Doing this stops the roaming profile from working....

Any ideas - admin needs to see the profiles for backup reasons (we run custom scripts).

have you set the "Add the Administrators security group to the roaming user profile share" group policy?
