Hi all,
My wife works for a small insurance broker. over the 2 floors, there are probably 10-20 PC's that the staff use.
They currently have a profile on the PC they normally sit at.
Two of the girls swap desks for a week at a time, to use their profiles they have to physically move the PC's from one floor to the other so they still have access to everything including email.
Another issue is that one of the girls like to sit at the office managers desk when she isn't there and due to having static profiles she has access to all the managers emails. She's learnt about salary info etc from this but no one has ever brought this up to managers.
How do you go about setting up roaming profiles, and more importantly, can you do that using existing profiles or does it all need be a fresh start?
I think they have a central server but no idea of the setup and version. Guessing Windows 7 on the PC's, doubtful it is earlier and not sure they've upgraded.
It's one of the directors that looks after the IT for the company, he's not great at it and is quite lazy. I doubt he is even aware of roaming profiles and how much of a benefit it is for staff that switch desks.
