Hey all,

I'm about 4 years out of date and wanting an upgrade, but thought I'd see what others think of the build before I get started. Specs and prices are below
- CPU: i5 13600K, £339.95
- CPU cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler, £90.49
- RAM: Kingston FURY Beast 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4, £47.15
- Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 Motherboard, ATX, £179.99
- Case: NXZT H510 Flow, £59.99
- SSD: WD_BLACK SN850X 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe, £99.99
- GPU: RTX 3090, bought secondhand for £700 (or 3080 for £500)
- PSU: MSI MPG A850GF 850W Modular 80+ Gold PSU, £104.99

Total: £1,622.55

I decided to go with a Z690 board + 16GB DDR4 for the medium term. I was originally looking for a cheap but suitable B660M board but I struggled to find a decent one with BIOS flashback (no access to 12th gen CPU) so settled with the MSI Pro Z690. The idea is that it hopefully won't depreciate much in the time that Z790+DDR5 becomes the better choice. I'm also not super fussed on overclocking the 13600K so thought 850W would suffice for the PSU. The build will be for both 4K and 1080p 144Hz gaming and occasionally as a workstation :)
