are we missing the 2nd half of the story? [ninja edits win over me]

what was the first post about?

Erm first post was the first thing that came to mind, but then as i realized he was far cooler than that i though this post was more appropriate :p

He wont get released till he can fly, i have opened his wings and they seem to be straight. He seems ok but i just havnt seen him fly yet. He has also done a poo on my curtains!!!!!

You should release the bird immediately.
As a wild animal he will continue to become disorientated indoors until eventually going into shock and dying.

Nice idea but not practical or indeed, kind.

pfft budgies are a wild animal in some places (im guessing) but they dont die from shock indoors

brought in by your cat though.....

wont the cat just try and kill it agian

You should put them in a box with a cover over it with some water and a tablecloth/bedding for them to settle in then at various points take 'em outside and see if they will fly off of their own accord.

Thats' what we do at least, I have no idea if it's right but 50% of the time they'll fly off.

The other 50% don't make it usually - they die of shock from being caught/captured/hitting the window. :(

budgies have been bred for generations as pets and know nothing of life beyond their cages...neo

Hehe, well i'll fill you in on the rest of this as Huzeeee is at his girlyfriend's house now.

Basically his cat bought in said bird, a small Robin and Ian found it just sat in the corner of his hallway.

He put the bird (now called Batman ;)) in his old TV cabinet - the sort with the glass front - with a perch, some seed and some water.

When Batman was a little bit more active, he took him out and let him perch on his finger...and mine when I went round later to see him.

He's now sat back in his little house on his coathanger perch chilling until he's over the shock and can fly again. He's got plenty of water and seed and a comfy little teatowel to sit on if he doesn't like the perch.

I'll get some pics of my PDA, just a tick!
