That doesn't mean he didn't know he was leaving or have some thing else lined up. The whole DLC thing is not knew to him unless he's been living under a rock since Microsoft booting Epic into touch in 2006 for wanting to release free DLC.
We don't know what's been going on behind closed doors with him and activision but to suggest he wasn't happy with the DLC route is laughable as it's not a new system.
They could always take a stand and boycott DLC for Xbox 360 until it is allowed to be free, but we all know publishers are as bad as Microsoft when it comes to milking their customer base.
