No, not the band you clowns, the people who purport themselves to be good samaritans and help developing countries. They've actually gone and appointed one of the world's most evil, corrupt tyrants as their ambassador for goodwill.

As someone who is extremely cynical towards the UN and all these other organizations which are seemingly extremely good at turning goodwill into profit, this is the nail in the coffin.

Corrupt, lying, two faced scumbags.

Are you just against him because you can't stand to see a black man achieving highly in the world?

Please tell me you're simply not up to speed on Mugabe and not actually that stupid.

Here, have some light reading:

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe documented at least 3,750 killings and speculated that the actual number could be double that, or higher, since its coverage was limited to the Tsholotsho districts of Matabeleland North and the Matobo districts of Matabeleland South.[4] Local Ndebele put the figure between 20,000[12] and 30,000.[5] Journalist Heidi Holland referenced a death toll of 8,000 as a typical conservative estimate.[13] In February 1983 the International Red Cross disclosed that 1,200 Ndebele had been murdered that month alone.[1] In a unanimously adopted resolution in 2005, the International Association of Genocide Scholars estimated the death toll at 20,000.[14] Zimbabwean Minister for National Security Sydney Sekeramayi countered that allegations of atrocities were part of a ZAPU disinformation programme to discredit the army.[1] In 1992 serving Defence Minister Moven Mahachi became the first ZANU official who publicly apologised for the execution and torture of civilians by the Fifth Brigade. Five years later, Enos Nkala, former Defence Minister, described his involvement with Gukurahundi as "eternal hell" and blamed President Mugabe for having orchestrated it.[15] Speaking at Joshua Nkomo's memorial service on 2 July 2000, Mugabe admitted that "thousands" had been killed during the campaign, calling it an "act of madness".[1]

Or a quote from the Guardian:

From January 1983, a campaign of terror was waged against the Ndebele people in Matabeleland in western Zimbabwe. The so-called Gukurahundi massacres remain the darkest period in the country’s post-independence history, when more than 20,000 civilians were killed by Robert Mugabe’s feared Fifth Brigade.

More? Sure you want more:

Zimbabwe: Death toll rises in Robert Mugabe's reign of terror before election

All down to Mugabe. The guy is guilty of genocide, driving his own country in to the ground so far that his currency has simply ceased to exist, he has killed off the medical industry in his own country and goes abroad to get medical treatment.

As for the country's finances? Well, when he became president a loaf of bread cost roughly $5 ZIM, or 5 zimbabwean dollars. He wanted more money, so he simply printed more with zero regard for his citizens, which eventually ended up with this (sadly this isn't a joke):

I can only hope that your post was either in jest or you simply posted without knowing what the deal is with Mugabe. One of the most evil men on the face of the earth.

Listen! I'm not saying Mugabe is a saint, but the Western media certainly has an agenda against him and he has been the victim of many smear campigns over the years. Seems a reasonable appointment to given his political background and high profile gravitas. Just did some Wiki research and see Craig David has been goodwill ambasador for the WHO.... I rest my case.

As above. Name one single good campaign that Mugabe has done for his country. Go on, I'll wait.

Well good and bad are subjective terms. Also him using an overseas health care is no different from all the members of the Labour shadow cabinet who send their children to private schools etc.

Translation:

"i can't find anything positive that he's done but LABOUR LOL, AMIRITE GUYS? AMIRITE?"

Here you go... I didn't bother to read it but I'm sure it backs up my thoughts.

So another opinion. Let's move the goalposts here, to make it simpler:

Link an article which describes something positive that Mugabe has done. Not an opinion, actual, concrete proof. I can link to hundreds of articles about all the genocide he has committed. Let's see if you can find one single, solitary article about something good he's done.

I suspect quite a few people are a bit to emotionally involved in this to realise that 'good' and 'bad' are subjective terms and thus a blog article is a perfectly valid thing to link... Also Diddums, no personal insults please bra.

As much as I like norks, I'm not a bra

Anyway. I suspect that you're way out of your depth here and have zero clue what you're talking about so rather than insult you I'll just add you to my board of "dunno lol" and leave it at that. Been an enlightening exchange, have a wonderful evening in those clouds of yours :)

Righto gonna leave it there, with the OP also out it is probably best if the mods close this one. At no point did I say that I approve of everything that Mugabe has done but he does have some support for certain things he has done (not the killing bit) so its probably not as balck and white as the western media make out... Its a bit like the western media try to make Chairman Mao out as one of the biggest killers in history of the world yet he is loved in China etc.

Anyway please carry on with Tony Blair being peace ambasador to the Middle East etc. because I'm sure western policy to that region over the last 20 years hasn't resulted in thousands upon thousands of deaths has it?

"Not the killing bit" = nvm 20k+ deaths on his instructions lol.

I'd rather the mods keep this open tbh. Just because you can't bring anything of any worth to this discussion doesn't mean it has to go ;)
