Is this stuff good for you?

Me and the Mrs are on a detox. We're trying to eat healthy, balanced diets and drink plenty. We don;t want any E numbers or other chemicals.

We tend to drink a lot of this Robinsons stuff, because water round here tastes like wee.

But is it actually OK for you? It says no added sugar or colouring, but what about the rest of it? I mean Diet Coke had no sugar, but it's still 100% chemicals and will rot your guts.

What do you think?

I'm more of a Robinsons Summer Fruits man myself, but then again I haven't tried many other squash type drinks from robinsons except the standard orange/lemon. I wouldn't think it's bad for you, considering I drink it with about 4/5 water, can't be doing too much harm.

Have you tried using a brita filter? The water straight out of my tap tastes quite bad, but after running it thought the filter it gets rid of it.

One of the ones we have is Summer Fruits. It's still Fruit and Barley. My fav is the grapefruit one.
It's not really whether it's *good/bad* for you I'm after. More is it not really that natural? (I'm trying to eat natural, organic, real stuff)

Brita filters are very good but a bit tedious changing the cartridge all the time. You can get a filter system plumed in that gives you filtered water and it requires less maintenance, reverse osmosis filters or something.

Is it the no added sugar one? I think the answer to your question depends on that really.

I use No Added Sugar Apple and Blackcurrent ad get through enough of it to drink 4 or 5 pints a day, I find it really helps keep my water intake up.

I'm sure the calorie count is negligable, and anything that keeps your water intake up, helps you feel full and prevents you drinking rubbish like Coke can't be bad.

We have an american style fridge/freezer which is plumbed into the water supply and produced chilled, filtered water and ice cubes - fantastic in the summer time.

You hardly have to change the filter that often, once a month or so.

We use a slimline one designed to fit in the fridge door so we have cold filtered water when we want it. Had it for a few years now and wouldn't be without it.

I've been drinking Cirtrus Fruit & Barley for about 3 days and I've been feeling great, which is good considering how much fluid I drink in an average day. I used to drink that Lucozade Sports Water stuff (Citrus) and the barley water is loads better. :)

My experience was from a good 5 years ago so things may of changed. Where we where you could almost walk on the water it was so hard. Since moving over the downs the water quality is much better, the bloke that does our forklifts tested it and it was ok to use in the batteries. :)
