Is there a robocopy equivalent in OS X?

I use robocopy in mirror mode to back up 1 usb hd to another in windows. Can easily be set up to run on a scheduled task as well. I'd want something that intelligently mirrors without deleting the whole drive each time.

rsync.

If you want a GUI for this capability, then the best (though expensive) option is Carbon Copy Cloner, which utilises rsync along with some other custom stuff.

rsync looks perfect.

Is there any preference of launchd vs cron to schedule it?
Only thing I'm aware of is that cron is deprecated, and that launchd is preferred (launchd is a complete startup solution, combining the functionality of cron, init, rc, among others). Nothing stopping you from using cron though.
