There's not much in it these days in terms of weight. UK Robot Wars can weigh as much as 110kg Battlebots top out at 250 lbs which is 113kg.tombstone has a muh more powerful weapon doesn't it, its also heavier being american?
much better episode now the dross was eliminated.
but can they fix the issues for next season, mainly the format and the crap bots.
If those two ever did fight then they better reinforce the arena!

Team Carbide did have an entry in battlebots "Cobalt" iirc, but it wasn't anywhere near as effective
I've never heard this before, but if true that's completely ridiculous. The problem with Battlebots is that they allow certain teams (if they can show that they are competent) to exceed the limits set for weapon power. Spinners have a limit to their kinetic energy, as flippers have a limit to their pressure. Tombstone is allowed to exceed this limit so its weapon is a lot more powerful than most others.
I watched battlebots last night on demand. Its crap compared to robot wars, 45 mins with 3 battles and the rest talking wtf. Its like a cheap chinese knock off of robot wars (not actually sure which came first).

That was the one i watched and while funny i miss the destruction of the spinners on robot wars.Ignoring the "American" production style, then I'm not sure how you can say it's either cheap or crap. Due to the format at least there seems to be time for robots to be repaired between rounds (so spinner damage isn't as much of a drama), teams generally have spares (due to having larger budgets through sponsorship), the arena doesn't fall apart every two seconds, and there is slightly more innovation with the rules e.g. use of Drones, Fire, and some other less seen robot types (e.g. there was a humanoid bot).
Personally enjoyed one of the last episodes of Battlebots where one of the teams fixed a garden rake to their lifting arm and then "swatted" a Drone out of the air.
Where's the best place to watch battle bots? Me and the gf are suffering withdrawal!

One question remains now, how to beat the spinners?
Team Carbide were overly worried that Bombshell's weapon was the exact height of Cobalts weapon drive chain and so backed in.
So is their blade height adjustable? Clever if so! It's probably rubbish against flippers though.Check out Cobalt vs. Bombshell on a certain online video site.
